Counselling & Psychotherapy Services

Collaborating with you to reach your goals

I work with clients 13 and older to tailor an approach using a number of therapeutic modalities including but not limited to Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Motivational Interviewing,  Dialectical Behavioural Therapy informed practices, and Harm Reduction Strategies, particularly around navigating self-harming behaviours.

With the scope of my experience, I am prepared to work with clients and their families around a variety of issues including:

  • Struggles with mood, anxiety and other mental health difficulties
  • Parenting/parent-teen conflict
  • Difficulties with emotional regulation (struggles with effectively managing emotions & emotional experiences; struggles with less than optimal coping strategies such as various types of self-harming behaviours)
  • Support for family members of individuals who struggle with emotional regulation
  • Matters related to sexuality and sexual identity, including coming out and grappling with the effects of homophobia, biphobia, and heteronormativity
  • Gender identity, including support around transitioning, coming out as transgender, gender queer, nonbinary, and grappling with the effects of transphobia and rigid gender norms
  • Understanding the impact of various forms of oppression (sexism, racism, ageism, saneism, transphobia, homophobia, biphobia, religious biases etc.) and finding healing and empowerment through resistance.

My fee is $150/50 minute session and is prorated at the same rate for family sessions if they run longer.  A portion may reimbursable for those who have supplemental insurance coverage. Please check with your carrier to see what your plan covers.
